The correspondent of the Lagos State Television (LTV) in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Shakiru Adeleye, has, again, emerged as the runner -up in the Table Tennis event of the annual Lagos Speaker’s Game played on Wednesday, at the Assembly Complex, with a promise that he would return next year to win gold.
Adeleye, a former Vice Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Correspondents Association (LAHACA), also won silver last year after winning a gold in 2023.
The game was tagged, ‘Unity Game’.

He was defeated in a highly technical and interesting final by Mr Lawal Amidu from the Somolu Local Government in straight sets — 11-6, 11-7, 11-8.
Speaking with THE IMPACT, Adeleye accepted the defeat with a promise that he would be back for gold next year.
“It was a very interesting match, and I put in my best to win gold but it didn’t come my way. Congratulations to the winner.
“I will return for the next year’s edition more prepared and better. I will be returning to win the gold”, he said assuringly.
